abstract |
(57) Abstract: An insulating foam having a low thermal conductivity is produced by using carbon dioxide as a sole or main blowing agent. SOLUTION: The foam is combined with at least one solid alkaline getter capable of removing carbon dioxide and at least one desiccant effective to provide a relative humidity higher than the equilibrium relative humidity on a saturated aqueous solution of the getter. Seal in a gas impermeable enclosure to remove water without leaving the getter anhydrous. For example, calcium chloride dihydrate can be used when the getter is sodium hydroxide. |
