abstract | (57) Abstract: To provide a magnetic disk having a protective film having a small film thickness and excellent lubricating performance and durability for covering and protecting a magnetic recording layer. In this magnetic disk, a protective film underlayer 2 made of a noble metal having a thickness of 0.1 to 100 [nm] is formed on the surface of a magnetic recording layer 1, and the protective film underlayer 2 is further formed. A fixed layer 3 composed of a monomolecular film of a basic organic compound having a sulfur atom in the molecule is formed on the surface of the, and an alkyl group or a polyether group in which hydrogen atoms are substituted with fluorine atoms is formed on the fixed layer 3. A lubrication protective film 4 made of an acidic organic compound is formed. |
