(57) [Summary] [Structure] A method for producing L-serine from glycine and formaldehyde by immobilizing an enzyme serine hydroxymethyltransferase on an ion exchange resin and using the immobilized enzyme. [Effect] SHMT can be immobilized on an ion-exchange resin in a highly active state, whereby L-serine containing less impurities can be produced, and the enzyme can be recovered. |
