abstract |
(57) Abstract: The present invention relates to a sizing composition used for glass fibers used for reinforcing a laminated resin used in molding a glass laminate. The present invention also relates to glass fibers treated with the formulation, and fiber reinforced plastics prepared from the treated glass fibers. The sizing formulation of the present invention contains a low molecular weight polymer latex prepared by polymerizing at least one monomer as defined herein. The polymer improves the wettability of the glass fibers by the laminating resin and the transparency of fiber reinforced plastics prepared from the sized glass fibers and the laminating resin as compared to previously known sizing formulations. It has an effective molecular weight. |
