abstract | (57) [Summary] [Purpose] The present invention relates to a method for detecting Escherichia coli from a clinical specimen by an enzyme capture assay. [Structure] A method for rapidly detecting Escherichia coli from a clinical sample. The principle is to immobilize an antibody that binds to β-D-glucuronidase, which is a marker enzyme of E. coli, and to which E. coli is considered to exist. Escherichia coli is indirectly detected by contacting with a sample and measuring the activity of the enzyme captured by the antibody in the presence of a fluorescent substrate. |
