Method for producing water-absorbent cellulose material |
abstract |
(57) [Summary] [Object] To provide a method for producing a cellulosic water-absorbing material having a high water-absorbing ability at low cost. [Structure] A material containing cellulose is impregnated with an aqueous reaction solution consisting of a carboxyalkylating agent, an alkali metal hydroxide, and a cross-linking agent, and water is partially evaporated to adjust the ratio of water in the aqueous reaction solution to that of the reaction solution. The crosslinked carboxyalkylserose having a degree of carboxyalkyl group substitution of 0.35 to 0.8 is obtained by heating the mixture after adjusting it to 20 to 60% based on the total weight. |
