titleOfInvention Catalyst for decomposing volatile organic chlorine compounds
abstract (57) [Abstract] [Purpose] An object of the present invention is to provide a catalyst capable of efficiently decomposing volatile organic chlorine compounds in the presence of water vapor and oxygen and maintaining activity for a long period of time. A catalyst in which at least one selected from the group consisting of platinum, palladium, and ruthenium is supported as a main catalytically active metal component on a carrier containing zirconia as a main component, and phosphorous oxide is supported as a cocatalyst component. The supported amount of the main catalytically active metal component is 0.1 to the catalyst in terms of metal. A catalyst having an equivalent amount of 5% by weight and an amount of a cocatalyst component supported in an amount of 2 to 5% by weight as phosphorous pentoxide with respect to the catalyst. [Effect] In the catalyst of the present invention, the phosphorus oxide added as a co-catalyst component has a synergistic effect with the main catalyst metal component. As a result, the volatile organic chlorine compound can be efficiently treated for a long time, which is practical.
