Lubricant hydrocracking method |
abstract |
(57) [Summary]nHydrogenation-dehydrogenation function, preferably palladium and crystalline material with very high sorption capacity as shown by benzene adsorption capacity above about 15 g-benzene / 100 g-anhydrous crystals at 7 kPa (50 torr) and 25 ° C. A fuel oil that boils above about 316 ° C. (600 ° F.) and contains at least 10 wt% aromatics under high pressure conditions sufficient to reduce the aromatics content to about 10 wt% with the catalyst comprising. The bottom fraction of hydrocracking is converted to a lubricant base oil of reduced aromatics. Prior to high pressure hydrotreating with a catalyst comprising HZSM-5, the bottoms fraction was dewaxed to reduce the pour point of the fraction to -7 ° C (20 ° F). Typically the bottoms fraction is produced in a medium pressure fuel oil hydrocracking process using a bifunctional amorphous catalyst. |
