titleOfInvention Multi-effect cold / sinus formulation
abstract (57) [Summary]nBy adsorbing the active drug mixture by wet granulation on a silicon dioxide carrier, which comprises about 50 to about 85% of the total weight of the adsorbate composition, decongestants such as pseudoephedrine and antihistamines such as diphenhydramine and ( Or) removes the bitter metallic taste or unpleasant buccal sensation from a chewing cold / sinus formulation consisting of a bitter-tasting mixture of chlorpheniramine maleate. Multiple symptom relief formulations are optionally prepared by adding an antitussive such as dextromethorphan hydrobromide and / or an analgesic such as meclofenamic acid, aspirin or ibuprofen. Other excipients such as flavors, sweeteners, lubricants and bulking agents are added to improve the taste and mouth feel and as an adjunct to the tableting process.
