(57) SUMMARY Disclosed are stable copper (I) complexes and methods related thereto. This stable copper (I) complex comprises a copper (I) ion, which is complexed with a polydentate ligand that favors the +1 oxidation state for copper. The method of the present invention involves the use of this stable copper (I) complex as a wound healing agent, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory agent, lipid regulator, signal transduction regulator, hair growth agent and antiviral agent. Typical copper (I) complexes include neocuproin copper (I) and bathocuproine disulfonate copper (I). |
