abstract | (57) [Summary]nThe present invention provides isolated peptides of LolpI, the major protein allergen of Lolium perenne species. Peptides within the scope of this invention include at least one T cell epitope of the protein allergen of LolpI, preferably at least two T cell epitopes. The invention also provides modified peptides that have therapeutic or diagnostic properties that are equal to or greater than those of the corresponding natural allergen or portions thereof, but with additional properties, such as reduced side effects. The invention further provides nucleic acid sequences encoding the peptides of the invention. Also provided are methods of treating and diagnosing susceptibility to LolpI or an allergen immunologically associated with LolpI (DacgI, PoapI or PhlpI) in an individual. Also provided are therapeutic, diagnostic or reagent compositions comprising one or more of the peptides of this invention. |
