titleOfInvention | Method for treating osteoporosis and therapeutic composition |
abstract | (57) [Summary]nA combination of the following active ingredients for treating osteoporosis: (a) a pharmaceutically acceptable alkalized potassium salt which produces hydroxy ions, which can reduce the acidity of tissue fluid or urine and which is bicarbonate. Selected from the group consisting of potassium salts of carboxylic acids which are converted to potassium and bicarbonate and thus alkalinized in vivo: and (b) treatment of osteoporosis in a minimum amount of 1/10 of its normally recommended dose. The estrogen: alkalized potassium salt is present in such amounts such that the combination is substantially more effective in treating osteoporosis than when the same amount of estrogen is administered independently. |
