(57) [Summary]nComplexes useful for detecting or treating cancer, cardiovascular or infectious diseases are provided. The complex consists of a ligand and a protein. The ligand has a moiety capable of binding to a mercapto group and is capable of chelating a metal useful for detection or therapy. Proteins react with substances associated with target cells, lesions or pathogens. Prior to complex formation, the protein has at least one mercapto group which is the site of complex formation with the ligand. Also provided are metal chelates of the conjugates, detection and therapeutic methods, methods of making the conjugates and pharmaceutical compositions of the conjugates. |
