abstract | (57) [Summary] (a) Alkali metal acetate such as KAc or NaAc, (b) Phosphate ion such as K 3 PO 4 , and (c) Soluble silicic acid such as K 2 SiO 3 or Na 2 SiO 3. A liquid deicing and anti-icing composition comprising an aqueous salt solution is provided. These compositions are environmentally safe and meet FAA standards for metal corrosion resistance. They are effective at very low temperatures (eg -40 ° C) and provide a particularly effective deicing composition when used with granular CMA. |
