abstract (57) Summary The present invention relates to an anti-inflammatory compound having the following structure (I): In the above formula: (a) -X is cyclic alkyl having 4 to 15 carbon atoms, branched chain alkyl having 6 to 15 carbon atoms or aryl having 6 to 15 carbon atoms; An integer of 0 to 2; (c) -V- is -OC (O)-, -N (Q) C (O)-, -N (Q) C (S)-, -C (O)-. , -SO 2 -or -P (O) (OH)-; (d) -Q is hydrogen; saturated or linear chain having 1 to 6 carbon atoms and unsaturated with 1 or 2 double bonds. Or is branched-chain alkyl, or -Q and -X are covalently bonded to form a cyclic moiety containing the nitrogen to which -Q is bonded and 5 to 20 carbon atoms; (e) Z is -O- or -NH-; when V is -OC (O)-, -Z is -NH-; (f) -R 1 is a hydrophobic moiety; (g) -R 2 is a hydrophobic moiety; (h) -R 3 is - (CH 2) m -A- N It is -A- is a covalent bond, p- phenyl or p- cyclohexyl; (CH 2) m is -A-B-C (NH 2 ) = NH (m is from 1 to about 6 integer - 2 or ; -B- is a covalent bond or -NH-); (i) -R 4 is a hydrophobic moiety; (j) -R 5 is - (CH2) m -A-NH 2 or - (CH 2 ) M -A-B-C (NH 2 ) = NH (m is an integer from 1 to about 6; -A- is a covalent bond, p-phenyl or p-cyclohexyl; A bond or -NH-); and (k) -Y is hydrogen or methyl. The present invention also relates to pharmaceutical compositions containing the above compounds and methods of treating inflammation or pain using such compounds and compositions.
