abstract (57) [Summary]nAdhesive compositions have been discovered which exhibit a strong bond between rubber and metal, have excellent environmental resistance and do not require a metal surface to be primed first. The composition comprises a halogen-containing polyolefin, an aromatic nitroso compound, a polymaleimide compound, and a metal oxide such as zinc oxide or magnesium oxide. The composition may optionally include a vulcanizing agent such as sulfur or selenium, a phenolic epoxy resin or carbon black.
