abstract (57) [Summary] [Objective] A thermoplastic composition having a small amount of a phosphite stabilizer, a low degree of yellowness, a bright natural color, and a transparency. A benzoxazolyl-based brightener compound and a thermoplastic composition containing the same are provided. The present thermoplastic composition comprises a thermoplastic resin, a phosphite heat stabilizer present in a low concentration, a whitening agent present in a low concentration, and a pigment. This thermoplastic resin composition is preferably transparent. The composition is useful for producing molded articles and blow molded articles requiring high transparency, for example, glass materials such as thermoplastic windows. The composition utilizes a low concentration of phosphite and a low concentration of whitening agent in combination with a moderate concentration of pigment and thus exhibits an excellent appearance, i.e. low yellowness with a bright even natural colour.
