(57) [Summary] [Purpose] Providing a waterproof structure for a box, for example, an operation box for remote control. The waterproof structure of the box is such that a string-like packing 32 is closely sandwiched between a protrusion and an engaging groove formed on the peripheral joint surface of the divided case and engaging with each other, and the box-like packing is provided between the peripheral joint surfaces. The retaining ring 40 of the tubular packing 34 enclosing the harness H is closely fitted into the inner and outer communication holes formed through the case, and the string-like packing retaining groove 40 is formed on the peripheral surface of the retaining ring 40. In addition, both ends 41 of the string-like packing are elastically deformed and pushed in the direction of reducing the shaft diameter. The string-like packing is waterproof between the peripheral joint surfaces, and the tubular packing is waterproof between the inner and outer communication holes and the harness. By adjusting the length of pushing the end of the string-like packing into the holding groove 40, the string-like packing may stick out from the peripheral joint surface, or a gap may be formed between the end of the string-like packing and the tubular packing. This will not happen and water will be prevented from entering the box. |
