abstract | (57) [Summary] [Objective] To provide a method for purifying bisphenol. According to the method of the present invention, (1) a mixture containing 35 to 70 parts by weight of unpurified bisphenol and 65 to 30 parts by weight of water, to which a substantial amount of an organic solvent or an alkali compound is not added, is added to an atmospheric pressure. Preparing at above pressure and above 100 ° C., (2) crystallizing bisphenol at below atmospheric pressure, (3) separating crystalline bisphenol from the mother liquor, (4) separating at least a portion of the mother liquor into a bisphenol-rich oil phase and a water-rich phase; (5) adding a mixture comprising at least a portion of the bisphenol-rich oil phase and water to a pressure above atmospheric pressure and 100 ° C. Above (6) cooling the mixture and crystallizing the bisphenol, and (7) separating the crystalline bisphenol from the mother liquor. |
