abstract (57) [Summary] [Objective] The present invention relates to an exhaust gas denitration method capable of removing nitrogen oxides in exhaust gas with high efficiency. [Structure] In a method of introducing exhaust gas containing nitrogen oxides into a reactor filled with a catalyst to catalytically remove nitrogen oxides using ammonia as a reducing agent, a first denitration catalyst layer is installed upstream of a gas flow. Then, an ammonia decomposing catalyst layer having a function of oxidizing and decomposing ammonia into nitrogen and nitrogen oxides is provided in the subsequent flow, and a second denitration catalyst layer is further provided in the subsequent flow, and nitrogen in the exhaust gas is introduced at the inlet of the first denitration catalyst layer. A method of denitrifying exhaust gas by adding ammonia in an amount equal to or more than the reaction equivalent of oxide.
