Household oral fluid sample collecting device and package for mailing the device |
abstract |
(57) [Summary] (Modified) [PROBLEMS] To provide a device for collecting oral fluid samples at home and a mailing assembly for sending the sample device to a laboratory. The reagent strip comprises a test portion containing an absorbent cotton pad. The absorbent cotton pad can be placed on the tongue in the mouth to collect the oral fluid sample. A plastic frame surrounds the pad and serves to hold the fluid thereon. The test strip contains a larger handle at the opposite end with a sealing device and a patient identification feature for sealing engagement with the preservative pouch 60. The preservative pouch 60 is a pair of seals 6. It contains 2,63. A first seal closer to the user seals the preservative retained in the pouch during transportation of the pouch to the user. |
