Kind Code: A1 The present invention relates to starch-based starch formulations suitable for use as a base for sugar-free confectionery products. The formulations of the present invention contain diluted hydropropyl tapioca starch, gelatin and a suitable polyol. The ingredients of the formulation are present in an amount such that the plaque pH does not fall below 5.7 after ingestion of the sugar-free confectionery product containing the above ingredients. |
