abstract (57) [Summary] [Purpose] A flame-retardant insulated wire having an insulating layer having high insulation and flame retardance over a long period of time. [Structure] 100 parts by weight of ethylene-propylene copolymer, 60 to 200 parts by weight of metal hydroxide surface-treated with a phosphoric acid ester, and 1 to 15 parts of zinc dimethacrylate. An insulating layer made of a resin that is cross-linked with an organic peroxide is added around the conductive wire. [Effect] High insulation and flame retardancy can be exhibited over a long period of time. Further, since the flame retardant used is a non-halogen type, there is no fear of generation of toxic gas.
