abstract | (57) [Summary] [Objective] When chlorinating 3-substituted pyridine-1-oxide to produce 2-chloro-3-substituted pyridine, a chlorinating agent which does not generate a large amount of phosphorus wastewater is used to produce 2-chloro-3-substituted pyridine. Provided is a method capable of producing a chloro-3-substituted pyridine in good yield and good selectivity. [Structure] General formula (1): (X is -CN, -COOR 1 or -CONR 2 R 3 ) 3 -Substituted pyridine-1-oxide, in the presence of a basic organic nitrogen compound, thionyl chloride and the general formula (2): RSO 2 Cl (2) (R is substituted with a chlorine atom, an alkyl group, or an alkyl group. An aryl group) which is reacted with a chlorinating agent selected from the sulfochlorides of general formula (3): (X is the same as above) to produce a 2-chloro-3-substituted pyridine. |
