titleOfInvention Method for preparing shaped and compressed sustained release unit dosage form and compressed unit dosage form thus obtained
abstract (57) Abstract: (Modified) PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molded and compressed sustained release unit dosage form from a therapeutically active substance exhibiting self-delayed release depending on the strength of compressive force used for compression. A method of manufacturing is provided. The method provides a unit dosage form in which the release of the active substance is highly uniform, reproducibly identical and almost linear. In order to achieve this, the active substance and an additive charge which suppresses or compensates for its self-delaying of its release are processed into particles in the first stage of preparation, so that no further additives are used. A pre-compressed body made from these particles exhibits a rapid release (compared to the sustained release required) over the range of compression forces intended in the manufacture of the unit dosage form, after which the particles are The unit dosage form is obtained by compression with a release-retarding agent in a second manufacturing step.
