(57) [Summary] [Structure] A product obtained by hydroformylating an acetal of 2-propenal is reacted with hydrogen and water at the same time in the presence of a ruthenium compound catalyst and an acid catalyst having a pKa value of 5 or less. A method for producing 1,4-butanediol, which is characterized. [Effect] From the hydroformylation reaction product of acetal of 2-propenal, hydrolysis and reduction reaction can be efficiently carried out simultaneously by a one-step method, and 1,4-butane can be used without using a large amount of acid compound. The diol can be produced advantageously. |
