abstract | (57) [Abstract] [PROBLEMS] To provide a small-sized deodorizing device that uses a photocatalyst, can efficiently deodorize with low power consumption, and can reliably prevent leakage of excitation light to the outside. A cover having a straight tubular shape whose inner peripheral surface is coated with the photocatalyst and whose both ends are open is provided on the outer periphery of the excitation light source so as to cover the excitation light source to some extent, and the excitation light source and the cover are separated from each other. By allowing air to be deodorized to pass through the space, it becomes unnecessary to dispose a photocatalyst carrier (honeycomb or the like). Further, the photocatalyst can be irradiated with light in the vicinity of the light source, moreover, the light supplied from the light source can be irradiated substantially uniformly over the entire photocatalyst without leaking to the outside, and light with high energy can be irradiated onto the photocatalyst with low power consumption. At the same time, since the activation rate of the photocatalyst is improved, the apparatus can be simplified and the deodorizing apparatus can be efficiently deodorized even when the amount of the photocatalyst used is small, so that the deodorizing apparatus can be downsized. |
