abstract (57) [Summary] [Object] The present invention provides an acid gas detecting means which has high sensitivity, can be applied to dry gas, can be easily measured, and can be continuously measured. [Structure] A sensing material comprising a dye matrix composite film in which a fluorescent indicator methylcalcein is contained in a polymer of methylcalcein and an organic polymer such as vinylpyrrolidone or a copolymer thereof, and the film surface of the sensing material is prepared. A detection method and a detection device provided with the detection means for exposing a sample to a test gas under light irradiation to detect a change in fluorescence intensity generated from the film surface to measure the test gas concentration.
