abstract (57) [Summary] [Structure] The following formula extracted and separated from the liquid obtained by culturing Basidiomycetes in the presence of plant tissue raw material. (In the formula, R represents a hydrogen atom or an acetyl group.) An α (1 → 4) -bonded D-glucose unit is formed, and about 30% of the hydroxyl groups at the 2 and 3 positions are acetylated. A novel polysaccharide substance having a molecular weight of 500 to 10,000. [Effect] The polysaccharide substance of the present invention is a biological response modifier (BR It exhibits the property as M) and can be used as an immunopotentiator or an immunostimulant.
