abstract | (57) Abstract: A method for preparing a photographic dispersion in which a hydrophobic photographically useful compound is incorporated into a latex polymer by an operation which does not substantially require a volatile or water-miscible solvent. A liquid organic composition containing one or more hydrophobic photographically useful compounds is dispersed in a dispersed polymer latex under conditions of high shear stress or turbulence sufficient to cause incorporation of the hydrophobic photographically useful compounds. What is claimed is: 1. A method of producing a dispersion comprising mixing with an aqueous solution containing a polymer latex, which method does not significantly change the pH of the mixture. |
