(57) [Summary] [Structure] A method for producing a water-absorbent resin in which a water-soluble monomer and optionally a polysaccharide are radically polymerized in the presence of water by using a crosslinking agent, characterized in that a thiol compound is allowed to coexist during polymerization. And a method for producing a water absorbent resin. [Effects] The water-absorbent resin obtained by the method of the present invention has a very small amount of water-soluble components even though it has a high absorption amount, and is highly safe. |
