abstract | (57) [Summary] [Structure] A method for producing methanol, which comprises reacting methane and oxygen in the presence of a lanthanoid compound and a reducing agent. According to the method of the present invention, methanol can be produced even under mild reaction conditions by reacting methane with oxygen in the presence of a lanthanoid compound and a reducing agent. In addition, the present invention is industrially advantageous because the desired methanol can be produced with high selectivity with almost no by-products. |
