abstract | (57) [Summary] (Modified) [PROBLEMS] To more efficiently adjust an OPC layer without heating a panel. A method of electrophotographically manufacturing a light emitting screen assembly on an inner surface of a faceplate panel for a color CRT is performed by uniformly applying a solution of a material on the inner surface of the faceplate panel to form an organic conductor (OC). Step 46 of forming a layer and coating a solution thereon to form an organic photoconductor (OPC) layer. There is a step 48 conditioned by a step 50 of directing a flow of dry gas over the OPC layer to raise the layer to a preheat temperature and to maintain the panel at a panel temperature that is low relative to the preheat temperature. The OPC layer is exposed to IR radiation to rapidly raise the temperature of the OPC layer to a curing temperature above the preheat temperature without significantly raising the temperature of the panel to remove volatile components from the OPC layer. Cooling the OPC layer by directing at least one flow of cooling gas to its surface and cooling its temperature to the next processing temperature. 4 |
