abstract | (57) [Abstract] [Purpose] A method for producing an α-olefin low polymer using a chromium-based catalyst, wherein the catalyst is activated by a simple operation and circulated in the reaction system. An industrially advantageous α which is capable of producing an α-olefin low polymer mainly composed of hexene with a high yield and a high selectivity. -Providing a process for the production of olefin low polymers. A catalyst system comprising at least a combination of a chromium compound (a), at least one compound (b) selected from the group of amines, amides and imides, an alkylaluminum compound (c) and a halogen-containing compound (d). Low polymerization of α-olefin is carried out in a solvent, the α-olefin low polymer is separated by distillation from the obtained reaction solution, and then an alkylating agent, a reducing agent and a halogen are added to the recovered solvent containing the catalyst component. After adding at least one component selected from the group of contained compounds, it is circulated in the reaction system. |
