titleOfInvention | Image forming device |
abstract | (57) [Abstract] [Purpose] A good gap between the charged surface of the photosensitive drum and the charging surface of the proximity charging member is accurately maintained for a long period of time to perform good charging and image formation. A step portion 103 is formed in a non-image forming area located on both sides of a surface to be charged which is an image forming area of a photosensitive drum 104. The step portion 103 is formed of a strong and uniform metal oxide film by the sol-gel method, and is further polished after the formation. The proximity charging member 100 is brought into contact with the step 103 to maintain the gap between the surface of the photosensitive drum 104 and the resistance layer 102 of the charging member 100 at a predetermined value. Since the stepped portion 103 is hard and is accurately finished by polishing, The gap is accurately maintained even when the photosensitive drum 104 rotates or is used for a long period of time. As a result, good charging and image formation can be achieved for a long period of time. |
