abstract (57) [Abstract] [Purpose] A hollow waveguide that can transmit laser light in a wide range of wavelengths with low loss and is excellent in mass productivity and reliability. A method of manufacturing the same and a laser transmission device using the hollow waveguide are provided. [Structure] A polyimide resin layer 2 transparent to a wavelength band of transmitted light is provided on an inner surface of a metal pipe 1 so that a hollow region 3 is formed. This makes it possible to obtain a highly reliable hollow waveguide in which loss is small and damage is unlikely to occur even when optical transmission in the infrared wavelength band is performed.
