abstract (57) [Summary] [Structure] An oxide is added as a sintering aid to fine silicon nitride-based fine powder having an average particle diameter of 300 nm or less, These are wet-mixed with a ball mill made of silicon nitride using n-hexane as a dispersion medium, dried, and then sintered by a discharge plasma sintering method. [Effect] By applying the pulse current while pressurizing the powder sample, plasma discharge occurs between the powder particles, and the powder sample can be rapidly heated from the inside and sintered in a short time. The progress of grain growth is avoided, and it becomes possible to manufacture a silicon nitride sintered body having a fine structure and superplasticity.
