abstract (57) [Abstract] [Purpose] To realize an electrolyte for batteries that can maintain high conductivity even at low temperatures, and to use such an excellent electrolyte to maintain high charge / discharge capacity even at low temperatures. To realize a lithium secondary battery that can be used. [Structure] The electrolytic solution for a battery contains ethylene carbonate, propylene carbonate, ethyl acetate or methyl acetate, propyl acetate, isopropyl acetate, butyl acetate, or acetic ester such as isobutyl acetate. The lithium salt is appropriately dissolved in a non-aqueous solvent containing one kind of dimethoxyethane, dimethyl carbonate and diethyl carbonate, and containing 50% by volume or less of acetic acid ester. In addition, a lithium secondary battery is constructed using these electrolytic solutions.
