titleOfInvention Magneto-optical recording medium
abstract (57) [Abstract] [Purpose] To provide a magneto-optical recording medium that can be overwritten without using an initializing magnetic field. [Structure] A memory layer formed of a perpendicular magnetic film and in-plane magnetization formed on the memory layer and having a predominant in-plane magnetic anisotropy at room temperature are shown. It has a write layer to be transferred and an initialization layer formed on the write layer and composed of a perpendicular magnetization film. The room temperature is T ROOM , the Curie temperature of the memory layer is T CM , and the write layer is changed from in-plane magnetization to perpendicular magnetization. Letting T PW be the Curie temperature of the write layer, T CW be the Curie temperature of the initialization layer, and T CI be the Curie temperature of the initialization layer, the temperatures T I , T L , and T H are T ROOM <T PW <T I <T L <T When the relationship of CM < TH < TCW , TCI is satisfied, the magnetization direction of the initialization layer is constant in the range of temperature T ROOM to temperature T H while the external magnetic field H B is applied, and the temperature T the magnetization direction of the writing layer was a perpendicular magnetization at I faces the direction of the external magnetic field H B, noted in the temperature T L And magnetization transfer write the layer layer, the magnetization of the initializing layer is transferred to the write layer at a temperature T H.
