abstract | (57) [Abstract] [PROBLEMS] To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor having an undercoating layer which is hardly soluble / insoluble in a solvent and having stable characteristics, and a contact charging type electrophotographic apparatus using the same which is less likely to cause dielectric breakdown. A negative-charge type electrophotographic photoreceptor having a photosensitive layer formed on a conductive support, wherein an electron-transporting pigment and a reactive organic metal are provided between the conductive support and the photosensitive layer. An undercoat layer containing a compound is provided. As the electron transporting pigment, one selected from a polycyclic quinone pigment, a perylene pigment and an azo pigment is used, and as the reactive organometallic compound, a zirconium alkoxide compound, a zirconium chelate compound, a titanium alkoxide compound and a titanium chelate compound are used. The one selected from is used. This electrophotographic photosensitive member is suitable for use in an electrophotographic device, particularly an eraseless electrophotographic device, which applies a voltage to a charging member arranged so as to be in contact with the photosensitive member for charging. |
