titleOfInvention Radiation detector
abstract (57) [Abstract] [Purpose] It is an object of the present invention to provide a radiation detector that can directly and efficiently probe helium-3 on the lunar surface. A metallic radiation detector main body having an entrance window for taking in radiation from an object to be probed, and a collector provided inside the radiation detector main body and electrically insulated from the radiation detector main body. A radiation detector comprising an electrode body, wherein the collector electrode body and the radiation detector main body are electrodes having polarities different from each other, a high voltage is applied, and electrical changes at these electrodes are measured to detect the radiation. A neutron source with a moderator made of a radioisotope element is provided near the entrance window.
