abstract (57) [Summary] [Objective] In the production of a color filter, the amount of the photopolymerizable composition containing a color material used is reduced and the coating solution is uniformly applied onto a transparent substrate. [Structure] Coating is performed in at least two stages of preliminary coating and main coating after preliminary coating. Coating liquid film thickness is 10 to 50 μm Then, after the preliminary coating is performed so that the ratio of the area of the non-coated portion of the peripheral portion of the transparent substrate is 40% or less of the area of the entire coated surface, the main coating is performed using the spinner coating device. [Effect] By making the coating in two stages, it is possible to reduce the scattering of the coating liquid. The uniformity of the coating can be improved by setting the coating in the former stage to a specific coating condition. Coating can be performed with a high coating rate, and the amount of color filter resist used can be reduced. Even a coating liquid with high viscosity and thixotropy can be applied uniformly. Even a large-area transparent substrate can be applied uniformly over a wide range up to the peripheral portion. The cost of the color filter can be reduced and the size of the color filter can be increased.
