titleOfInvention Electronic article surveillance input configuration controller using expert system technology for dynamic optimization.
abstract Kind Code: A1 Abstract: An EAS device with improved capability to operate without problems in a high electrical noise environment. An electronic article monitoring device includes a receiver having a plurality of receiving coils. Each coil is treated as a separate sensing unit, which has its own noise situation, and its noise environment is distinguished from the noise situation of other coils. Measuring the noise situation preferably involves examining the noise per coil and per phase. The controller can easily modify the receive coil interconnections and configurations to respond to per coil and per phase noise situation analysis. Noise analysis and coil configuration changes can be performed at the same time that the EAS is operating or within a period when the EAS device is inactive.
