abstract (57) [Summary] [Purpose] Development of a new shield excavation method that improves the fluidity of excavated soil and the water stoppage during excavation, especially in the area behind a shielded tunnel, especially in the mud pressure shield method. [Structure] While carrying out the excavated soil to the rear of the partition of the shield machine, a composition comprising a water-soluble polymer and a boron-containing compound or an aldehyde group-containing compound, or an aqueous solution thereof or a suspension of water or an organic solvent is added and mixed. Then, a shield excavation method that rapidly fluidizes the excavated earth and sand by adding and mixing an acidic or alkaline material. [Effect] When a water-soluble polymer substance containing a boron-containing compound or an aldehyde group-containing compound is mixed with excavated earth and sand and the pH is adjusted, the excavated earth and sand are aggregated, dehydrated and non-fluidized, and the excavated earth and sand filled in the rear part of the screw conveyor. However, it fulfills the function of a water blocking plug against the earth pressure of the ground, reducing the disturbance of the ground around the shield face and reducing the subsidence of the ground.
