abstract (57) [Summary] [Object] An object of the present invention is to introduce a water-soluble taxol derivative different from conventional prodrug-type compounds, that is, a highly polar amino sugar into the 7-position hydroxyl group of taxol by an organic synthetic chemical method. And then forming a salt, It is intended to provide a novel taxol derivative which has excellent antitumor activity, has improved water solubility as compared with taxol, and has reduced toxicity. [Structure] Formula [Chemical Formula 1] (In the formula, R represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group.) A taxol derivative and a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
