abstract (57) [Summary] [Object] The present invention relates to a composite magnetic material obtained by partially subjecting an alloy of a rare earth and a transition metal to a hydrogenation / nitriding / carbonization treatment. It is an object of the present invention to provide a composite magnetic material of a hard phase and a soft phase by partially hydrogenating / nitriding / carbonizing it into a soft phase. [Structure] 1/5 type, 2/17 type, 1/12 type, 2/1 Regarding a magnet having a 4/1 type structure or a mixture of a plurality of these type structures as a main component of a rare earth and a transition metal, the surface of an arbitrary portion which is not to be a soft phase is covered and heated in hydrogen gas for hydrogenation. It is a composite type magnetic material in which a yoke is treated or heated in a gas containing nitrogen to perform a nitriding treatment or heated in a gas containing carbon to perform a carbonization treatment, and an arbitrary portion which is not covered is made into a soft phase and used as a yoke.
