abstract (57) [Summary] [Purpose] A clear image that has good fluidity and stable triboelectric charging characteristics, can maintain image density for a long period of time without depending on the environment, and has no toner fog or toner scattering. To provide a developer capable of obtaining the above, a developing device using the same, and a method for producing the developer. According to the method for producing a developer of the present invention, an external additive is subjected to a shearing force treatment for reducing the cohesive force of the external additive particles (step f), and then mixed with a toner composed of at least a binder resin and a colorant. Then, the carrier is mixed (step h) to obtain a two-component developer (step i). This makes it possible to obtain a developer having excellent fluidity and developability as compared with the case where an external additive is simply added to the toner.
