titleOfInvention Cosmetics
abstract PURPOSE:To provide an anti-suntan cosmetic having excellent adhesivity, spreadability, slipperiness, covering power and ultraviolet shielding capacity and high safety, by compounding fine powder of a flat granular resin essentially uniformly containing an ultraviolet absorber. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. of a resin (preferably polyethylene, nylon, polymethyl methacrylate, etc.) is essentially uniformly incorporated with 1-50pts.wt. of an ultraviolet absorber. Flat granular fine power of the obtained resin satisfying the formulas l>m>n and l/n>=2 (l, m and n are major diameter, minor diameter and thickness of the granule, respectively) is compounded to an anti-suntan cosmetic preferably at an amount of 2-50pts.wt. of the power per 100pts.wt. of the cosmetic. Extremely high ultraviolet-shielding effect can be attained by the addition of a small amount of the absorber and the anti-suntan cosmetic produced by this process has excellent spreadability on the skin, makeup effect, adhesivity, water-resistance, durability and removability compared with conventional cosmetic.
