titleOfInvention Method for producing high molecular weight polyarylene sulfide
abstract (57) [Summary] [Object] To provide an economically simple and convenient method for producing a high molecular weight PAS, which does not require an expensive polymerization aid. [Structure] In a method for producing a polyarylene sulfide by reacting an alkali metal sulfide and a dihaloaromatic compound in an organic amide solvent, a dihaloaromatic nitro compound is further reacted, and a gas phase portion of a reaction can is cooled. The method for producing polyarylene sulfide is characterized in that a part of the gas phase in the reaction can is condensed by the above, and this is refluxed to the liquid phase.
