abstract (57) [Summary] [Objective] To provide a novel fused thiophene derivative having a strong angiotensin II antagonistic action and useful as a therapeutic agent for cardiovascular diseases such as hypertension, heart disease and stroke. [Structure] Formula [Chemical Formula 1] And R 2 may be the same or different and each represents hydrogen, a halogen, a cyano group, a nitro group, an acylamino group or an optionally substituted hydrocarbon residue, and R 3 is hydrogen or an optionally substituted alkyl group. Group or formula-CO A group represented by D (in the formula, D represents hydrogen, an alkoxy group, a hydroxyl group, halogen or an amino group which may be substituted), R 4 represents hydrogen, halogen or a nitro group, and R 5 represents R 6 represents hydrogen or an optionally substituted alkyl group, R 7 represents an optionally substituted hydrocarbon residue, and A represents phenylene. Group is bonded to a phenyl group directly or via a spacer having an atomic chain of 2 or less, and n is an integer of 1 or 2,] or a salt thereof.
